Biography of Ron Edwards
Ron Edwards was born in 1950’s Los Angeles.
Ron’s early childhood was spent in the historic ‘West Adams district’ of Los Angeles, commonly called “Sugar Hill”. With such family ,friends and neighbors as Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Johnny Otis, Ethel Waters, Dorothy Dandridge, and the Nicholas Brothers, one could see why it was easy for Ron to develop an artistic and musical background.
The Artists’ in Ron’s immediate the family included, such notables as singer Lena Horne and Bill Hutson, fine artist. His family included the great Baseball player, Ernie Banks.This nurtured Ron’s early artistic nature.
The Southern California, area is a familiar local to the Edwards family. Ron studied art at Otis Art Institute, in Los Angeles, under the great Master Artist Charles White. He also studied under Master Artist, John Riddle, who went on to become curator of the famous ‘Watts Towers.
Ron graduated with another “Watts Towers” curator, artist Mark Greenfield. Ron spent time with Mark, in conversation, discussing the beauty and fragility of the Towers.
Ron Edwards has done work for such notables as LucasFilm, (George Lucas) Amblin’ Productions ( Steven Spielberg), Damon Wayans, Disney, NBC, CBS, Coca Cola, Chiat Day, Warner Bros and the USA Olympics.
In the early days of Computer Graphics and Animation, Ron worked closely with Robert Abel and Associates. In doing so, Ron Edwards was one of the early designers of Computer Animation. He became one of the artists who presented this new Technology to the world.
Ron Edwards has met and worked closely with many of the worlds great artists. This lists includes artists, Erte’,Charles White lll ,Robert Williams, & musicians, Jimi Hendrix , Muddy Waters, Mose Allison among a world full of Jazz and Rock Legends.This lists goes all the way to the Sun Ra Arkestra.
Ron’s been honored by having his graphics placed in the Smithsonian collection.
Ron Edwards has created Art work, architectural designs and conceptual work for NASA, numerous Theme Parks and venues around the world.
Ron Edwards Fine Art is in private collections worldwide.
